Have you tried Gailey’s Breakfast Café in downtown Springfield, Missouri? If you just answered no… then you’re missing out! Gailey’s has been around since 1942, but at the turn of the century became a breakfast café… a very successful one at that. Located at 220 E Walnut St, it’s in the perfect spot to stop while you’re visiting downtown, and the parking is manageable!

The Revoir Team’s Ethan Edwards is the General Manager and part owner of Gailey’s and gives us the 411 on everything we need to know about this incredible eatery. Sure, they’re called Gailey’s Breakfast Café, but they have a wide variety of lunch and dinner dishes as well. If you’re looking for something delicious and hearty, Ethan suggests going with the ‘Big Bite Mike.’ But if you’re looking for something healthier, they have plenty of options for you as well. Ethan suggests trying ‘A Quarter Mile More’ for a healthier meal. From healthy to hearty and in between, the most popular item is the ‘Downtowner,’ which consists of eggs, your choice of meat, your choice of toast, and your choice of potatoes. How could you go wrong? That’s a classic breakfast dish that’s highly desired. Don’t fret if you have specific dietary needs, they carry gluten-free and vegan options as well.

One of the coolest things about Gailey’s, and what makes them so unique, is that they support Springfield locally every opportunity they get. All artwork on the walls is switched out monthly and created by local artists. They use local food, local coffee, locally brewed beers on tap, and they support local musicians with live music performances. Not to mention the countless celebrities they’ve had swing by in the past for some scrumptious food.

As if that doesn’t make them cool enough, Gailey’s offers Mimosa Mondays where mimosa pitchers are $18, and Bloody Mary Tuesdays; they make their bloody mary mix in house, so you know it’s spectacular! The mimosas and bloody mary’s come in handy when it’s time for Open Mic Night on Wednesday nights… when they also offer $5 burgers and fries.

Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest times for Gailey’s. Being so desired, those days usually include a wait time (but it’s worth it!). Monday through Friday you’re suspected to not have many issues with getting in the door. Gailey’s is open Sunday through Tuesday 7AM-3PM, Wednesday through Saturday 7AM-10PM.
